Superhero/ComicCon/Cosplay 5km/10km/half marathon

A race full of character!

Join us for the FIRST EVER Sheffield “Defeat Dementia” ComicCon/Cosplay Canter on Saturday 14th July 2018. This brand new, family friendly event consists of a 5km fun run, a 10km and a half marathon race and costume contest on the beautiful Sheffield/Tinsley canal towpath. Wear your favourite superhero or character costume and use your superpowers to walk, run or sprint to the finish line. It’s going to be a whole comic strip of fun with a whole lot of running thrown in too! It's a family friendly 5k,10k or half marathon with a medal, FREE celebratory finish-line fizz (or beer!) and cake for all finishers, and trophies for winners in each distance. Bring your family and friends and join us as we take to the streets for the VERY FIRST Sheffield ComicCon/Cosplay Canter. Run on your own, as a pair or in a team. Totally traffic-free, fast and flat route. Family friendly, wheelchair friendly, pram-friendly event; even well-behaved dogs are welcome. No time limits, no age restrictions, no pressure - just LOADS of fun. We've even got soft archery and a bit of Beat the Goalie too, along with face painting. It's going to be a really fun day.Come and join us! Full route details will be emailed out one week before the event, but the race will start & finish on the canal towpath behind The Source (within a short walking distance of Meadowhall). Afterwards you can head off to the Meadowhall to grab yourself a bargain, or have lunch.
