Join our second annual Wakefield Hospice 5k run, a run supporting Wakefield's Hospice!

🌟 Wakefield Hospice 5K – Sunday 22nd March 2026 Coming back for its second year, the Wakefield Hospice 5K runs alongside our award-winning 10K event, giving everyone the chance to be part of an incredible day supporting Wakefield Hospice. The 5K starts at 09:00, sharing the same start and finish line as the 10K, and turns around at the 2.8K mark. Whether you’re running in memory of a loved one, chasing a personal best, a first-time runner, or a keen 5K’er looking for a shorter challenge, this is the perfect event to join. Open to runners of all ages and abilities (minimum age 11), the 5K is a fantastic opportunity for families, friends, and local communities to come together in support of a vital cause. Prizes are awarded for the top 3 male and female finishers. Every finisher will receive a commemorative Wakefield Hospice t-shirt. Refunds are available up to 28 days before the event. After this period, we’re unable to process refunds. You can transfer your place to another runner up to 14 days before the event, making it easy to pass it on if you can’t attend. The Wakefield 5K is organised by Wakefield Hospice to raise funds for patient care at Wakefield Hospice. I confirm that I am taking part in this event entirely at my own risk and that I am fit to do so. I will inform the organisers of any medical condition which may affect participation in this event and agree that my medical information will be passed to medical services on the day and included on the back of my race number. I agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions of this event and the Laws of UKA. I understand and agree that the organiser shall not be liable for death, personal injury or loss or damage as a consequence of participation, except with regard to personal injury arising as a result of the organiser’s negligence. I understand that the organisers reserve the right to alter the arrangements and conditions, including the event route and start time should circumstances require. I agree that, should the event be cancelled and a suitable alternative date cannot be arranged, my entrance fee shall be donated to Wakefield Hospice. We have professional photographers at the event. By participating in the 5k Road Race and/or 1k Mini Run you are giving Wakefield Hospice your consent to use your photograph for marketing, publicity and any future advertising of the event. All entrants shall be deemed to have made him/herself/themselves familiar with and agreed to be bound by the UKA Anti-Doping Rules and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules. The UKA Anti-Doping Rules apply to entrants participating in the sport of Athletics, for 12 months from the date of entry, whether or not the entrant is a citizen of, or resident in, the UK.
