Helping raise awareness of secondary breast cancer
After such a successful charity Run4Marie event and great feedback received we have decided to do one more event for 2020! To help spread happiness and joy to a not so joyful 2020! SantaRun4Marie 5Km Race/Virtual Race on Sunday 13th December 2020! This is a great opportunity to spread some Christmas cheer. AND your last chance to RACE this year!! You will receive a Santa Suit & bespoke Wooden medal with your race entry for both Race and Virtual race. Don't worry if you don't want to run in your Santa suit, still bring it along on the day for a photo opportunity in our amazing hand crafted by my little Elfs, yes our very own Run4Marie Santa sleigh!!! YES SLEIGH!!! After some devastating news two days after Run4Marie, I received the news that the Cancer has spread to my bone marrow. Treatment has now been stopped with limited treatments options left. Unfortunately the prognosis given to me was that I have limited time left in this wonderful world. My Oncologist is fantastic and nurse Vicki is the bomb. They both want me to prove them wrong so here I go, I will be that miracle. They can stuff, the 1 year prognosis I've got too many Run4Marie races to organise!!! I have stepped up this fight and with your support I will continue to fight harder than ever before. I believe I deserve to be here just like you, and will do everything possible. I have taken various steps in my diet and nutrition, health and well-being. My amazing Sister Emma and breast sorry best friend Lisa have researched options we can try, such as Vitamin C infusions, Hormone suppressing therapies, and options for trials (once COVID does one, as they are limiting trials at present). SantaRun4Marie will help me continue the fight!!

Race information: Virtual - can be completed anywhere at any time on the weekend of Saturday & Sunday 12th & 13th December 2020. Race - Run4Marie 5KM Newmachar route will be out & back on the Formartine & Buchan Railway line see Race route on the Entry Website here and Run4Marie Facebook page, The Race Village is Westside Lodge, Newmachar, AB21 0UD The Races will begin at 10am in waves of 15-20 people from fastest to slowest. Race Waves: Wave 1 9.45am Registration 10am Wave 1 Race start Wave 2 10.45am Registration 11am Wave 2 Race start Wave 3 11.45am Registration 12pm Wave 3 Race start Wave 4 12.45pm Registration 1pm Wave 4 start Race Waves will be announced the week of the event. The race will be staggered start times to ensure the health and safety of runners and ensure adherence with government COVID guidance. Parking will be limited so please plan ahead to avoid congestion. Two Car Parks will be used. NO 1 Railway line car park, NO 2 Run4Marie race village car park. Medals can be collected on the day for Race SantaRun4Marie and Virtual SantaRun4Marie run. But don’t worry medals for Virtual will also be posted out of you can’t make the race day.
