An undulating course through the beautiful Castle Eden Dene

This is the second Castle Eden 5k trail race hosted by Run Peterlee. Run Peterlee have adopted the ancient English logo, The White Wolf Of England – A sign of power, loyalty and freedom, the wolf often appeared engraved on helmets, swords and shields. The Castle Eden 5k route is otherwise known by the club as the White Wolf Run, so are you ready to run with the wolves? The route starts close to the Natural England Dene Lodge, winding around the edge of Castle Eden Dene on a undulating dolomite path. Then the route leads deep into Castle Eden Dene, twisting and turning through the ancient woodland. From here there is a challenging climb up Heart Attack Hill back out of the dene (can you manage it without stopping?) Once you reach the top there is a fast and flat run on the dolomite path back to the where the race started and a bottle of water and a custom designed technical t-shirt and medal awaits. We have limited it to 200 places so get in quick for this beautiful yet challenging 5k. We will be the guests of Natural England and of Castle Eden Dene itself, please admire and respect this fantastic area of natural beauty as you run this race.
