8K, 5K and 2.5K Countryside trail routes to raise money for Rocking Horse Children's Charity and The Friends of St Giles

The Horsted Keynes Fun Run is back! 19th September 9am Recreation Ground Field Choose your distance, sign up in advance and dig out your superhero cape! All scenic trail routes start and end on the Recreation Ground field where you can enjoy coffee, pastries and face painting as a runner or a spectator! Registration - 9:00am Family Warm up - 9:30 am 8K start - 9:40 am 5K and 2.5K start - 9:50 am There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and best dressed! All money raised will be split 50/50 between the FOSG PTA and Rocking Horse Children’s Charity Sponsored by : FOOTBALL FUN FACTORY, PHEONIX GYM & KATIE'S PHYSIO 2.5 km - No minimum age if accompanied by parent or guardian under 11. Suitable for families and younger children. 5 km - 11+. Children under 11 should be accompanied by a responsible adult. 8 km - Longer route with greater fatigue and navigation demands. All runs start and end with the same route. Before you run Choose a distance that is suitable for your fitness and experience. Wear appropriate footwear for footpaths, bridleways and uneven ground. Bring water if you are likely to need it, especially in warm weather. Make sure your emergency contact details are correct. Tell an organiser if you decide not to start or if you withdraw during the event. During the event Follow marshal instructions. Keep to the marked route. Take extra care on country lanes and when crossing roads. Be considerate to walkers, horse riders, cyclists, drivers, residents and other path users. Do not leave litter. Participants keep their own times. The event is not chip timed. If someone is injured or unwell Stop and assist if it is safe to do so. Tell the nearest marshal as soon as possible. In an emergency, call 999 first and then notify an organiser or marshal. A qualified first aider will be present, but response time will depend on the location of the incident.

Participant Declaration Please read carefully before registering. The Horsted Keynes Village Run is a community fundraising event organised by the PTA. Money raised will be split equally between a charity chosen by the school children and PTA fundraising. Routes use public footpaths, bridleways and country lanes and may include uneven ground, mud, tree roots, slopes, gates, stiles, livestock nearby and other natural hazards. By entering, I acknowledge and agree that: I take part at my own risk. I am responsible for assessing my own fitness and suitability, or my child’s suitability, to participate. I understand that the event is not a professionally managed or chip-timed race. Participants will keep their own times. Roads remain open to traffic. All participants must follow the Highway Code and any instructions given by marshals. Marshals are volunteers. They may help guide participants and slow traffic where practical, but they cannot remove all risks. Medical assistance may not be immediately available due to the nature of the route and the location of participants. I accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage arising from my participation, except where caused by the negligence of the organisers. Children under 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian. I consent to basic personal information being retained solely for event administration, emergency contact and safety purposes.
