The Great Skipton Santa Fun Run and Walk is a 5km charity race and walk organised by The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven, and each year the event gets bigger and bigger. In 2018, the run moved to Skipton High Street, and is now linked in with the Christmas Light switch on later on in the day. The run takes place with the help of Skipton Town Council, Craven District Council and Skipton BID. In addition to many of the runners’ own charities, the main beneficiaries this year will be Sue Ryder Manorlands, Local Skipton Charities and Rotary Charities. This year the SFR will again start and finish on Skipton High St and will include a slight change to the route taking runners through Skipton Woods on their way back to the High St. A shorter wheelchair friendly route is also being planned for 2019.” Many local Charities, organisations and schools use the event to raise money for their own charities and support the event through sponsorship. For 2019, the first 10 charities, schools, organisations or amateur clubs relating to children, that enter a team of 25 or more, will receive £250 incentive for their organisation. All you have to do is make sure that all entries have the same team name and once entered, email the names through to us at admin@skiptonsantafunrun.co.uk Acceptance of any organisations application will be at the discretion of the Rotary Club. Feel free to come and join us for good fun and a good cause by entering today! Individuals of any age ( 6yrs and over) and ability can take part. We encourage families and members of community groups to enter teams to run as a group and raise sponsor money. Sponsorship forms can be downloaded from the Rotary Club web site.
