Stanhope 10 Miler
Run for the hills
The Stanhope 10 Miler is a non profit plastic free event that supports local charities by raising funds and awareness of their cause. All money raised goes directly to the charity. This year we have chosen Quinn’s Retreat (Registered Charity Number - 1187899) again as our charity, They offer a retreat for those bereaved by suicide. The run takes place in the heart of the Durham dales. Make your way out of Stanhope with a hard ascent up (Killing Me) Softly Bank towards Bollihope reaching a height of 1300ft. Move onto Hill End before making your way back through Stanhope and finishing at Stanhope Showfield. You will take in the breathtaking views of the dales which will take your mind off this challenging but very rewarding run. 90% of the run takes place on road, 10% grass/trail. All participants are to register at event HQ where numbers will be allocated. If covid restrictions are in place then participants will be placed into groups and given allocated time slots to start. Registration opens at 08:00hrs can all walkers please register and be ready to start for 0900. Walking 09:00hrs (Not timed) Running 10:00hrs (Timed) So lets put your money where your mouth is and step up to the challenge of the year. **PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS AN OPEN ROAD RUN AND ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL RUN AT THEIR OWN RISK**

There will be no parking for participants on the showfield but there is adequate parking in and around Stanhope. There will be limited parking for marshals. Marshals will be in place throughout the course and event HQ and the route is sign posted with quarterly mile markers. First aid trained personnel will be present and sweepers will be in place. Participants must bring a drinking vessel as no water bottles/cups will be provided at water stations ( If Covid restrictions are in place then this will change accordingly) All terms and conditions can be found on The Stanhope 10 Miler Facebook group and business page.
