Eaglesfield Paddle 5K and 10K

Welcome to the Paddle 5K and 10K - two undulating road races around the scenic villages south of Cockermouth with fantastic mountain views and a friendly atmosphere. This is the first year of the event and we hope to attract new and experienced runners. The minimum age to compete is 16 years old 10K - OPEN but no more medals available. 5K - Limited entries left All money raised will be donated to the Paddle Community Association to buy equipment for the school. Registration is open from 9:30am to 10.30am and will be in the school playground (or inside the hall if it is wet) to collect your race numbers. There is a 10-15 min jog/walk to the start from the school so please allow time to get there. 10K Start - 11.00am 5K Start - 11.10am Race briefings will be held at the start before each race. There will be a water station at ~3km/8km mark. The minimum age to enter is 12 for 5k and 16 for the 10k. 10k Route: https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2656610?units=km 5k Route: https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2656605?units=km Parking will be in the school car park (for people arriving early), along the road outside the school and up the Eaglesfield road towards the church. Headphones are not permitted. Prizes - A medal will be provided to all finishers. And prizes will be awarded to the first male and first female plus spot prizes for 50th/100th/150th/200th…place. Prize giving will take place at 12:30, please see Facebook for updates and results. Refreshments - Please remember to carry a drink if required. There are no water stops on the route until the finish where hot and cold drinks and cakes will be available for purchase. Results - The event will be timed by Timing Up North Results If the event does not sell out there will be a limited number of entries on the day at a +£5 surcharge on the entry fee.
