Fairfield Horseshoe

Classified as an AM event, the Fairfield Horseshoe starts and ends at Rydall Hall (grid reference GR367063) near Ambleside. The 9 mile (14.5Km) route incorporates 2999ft (914m) of climbing. If you don't have the required kit see the FRA rules you won't be allowed to enter. If its a hot day, its likely that there will be a requirement to carry some water added to the kit list (TBC), therefore runners should bring a water bottle (probably at least 300ml) in case its required on the day. The course may be slightly different at the start and finish to avoid bottlenecks and members of the public. You must follow the flags. You must keep to the East side of the wall coming off Dove Crag. CHECKPOINTS & CUT-OFF - There is a cut-off of 1 hour, 30 mins at Great Rigg Checkpoint 2 (roughly equivalent to the previous cut-off at Fairfield top of 1:45). OTHER INFORMATION: Parking (£3 per car) in the official race car park which is signed from the A591. There is strictly no parking at Rydall Hall and in the lane leading up to the Hall, which will be policed! Tea and cakes will be available at the finish.
