Royston Runners host its annual 10 mile year end road race

A 10 mile (16 km) road run taking in the best of Buntingford and the surrounding area. The course is officially measured as 10 miles. Race start is 10:30 on Bank Holiday Monday 28th December 2026. Entries open at 9am on 1st September. To be added to the mailing list please email buntingford10@roystonrunners.co.uk. Price freeze from last year. No entries on the day. There is a cut-off of 2.5 hours (1pm). If you are running on the course after this time, you are welcome to continue. However, the marshalls and finish-line team may start to withdraw at this point. Trophies for Male & Female 1st, 2nd, 3rd; first Male & Female in each age category 40+, 50+, 60+ & 70+. Maximum of one trophy per participant. Also incorporating the Hertfordshire Veterans Road Running County Championship. Winners and runner ups will be presented with their medals straight after the Buntingford 10 medal presentation. There are Herts champs medals for both individuals (Women V35, V45, V55, V65 & V75; Men V40, V50, V60, V70 & V80) and teams (running clubs 1st, 2nd, 3rd female teams of 3 and male teams of 4). Craig Ivison is running 10 x Bunty10 back-to-back aiming to finish during this race. If you see him, do cheer him on!

Transfers are possible until 18th December. Transfers to a friend can be done via the RaceBest website. Contact the race organiser for all other transfers. Headphones are banned under British Athletics rules, and will result in disqualification. Runners must follow the rules of the UK National Anti-Doping Policy. No Dogs or Buggies.

Parking is limited so please car share where possible. There will be a water station at the out-and-back point near Westmill at 3.5 and 8 miles. There will also be water at the finish. We aim to be cupless at this event so please bring your own cup/bottle. Bottles and bags can be left in the school hall during the race. The organisers will not be held liable for . There is water available at the finish alongside other refreshments in the main building. We provide cups at the water station but are a cupless event at all other locations, if you require water please bring your own cup/bottle. Hot food, tea/coffee and cake will be available to purchase at the finish for runners and spectators. Candy and fruit will be available at the finish for runners.
