Slaithwaite Striders are proud to present the inaugural Darkwood Demon

This race gives you a taste of the beautiful Colne Valley trails, taking in fantastic views across all sorts of terrain: towpath, woodland, bridleway, moorland, muddy bog and road. A challenging climb to the top of Cupwith Hill turns into a fast descent towards the finish at Zapato Brewery for well-earned refreshments. 6.0 miles, 950 feet / 9.4km, 290 metres 85% Trail, 15% road Chip timed - Custom-made trophies for 1st place male and female. - Prizes for top 3 male & female. - On the day spot prizes. *Online entries have now closed, but entries are still available on the day for an extra pound, payable in cash* RACE DAY INFO: Sunday 15th Sept - Registration from 9:00 am - Race start at 10:00 am Please car share where possible. The car park is located behind Zapato, which you'll be directed to by parking marshals as you enter the Holme Mills site. To keep the road into the site clear, we kindly ask participants not to park on West Slaithwaite Road. The race will be chip-timed. Please collect your ankle timer & bib number from the registration desk inside Zapato Brewery between 9:00 to 9:45 am. There are no kit requirements, however trail shoes are strongly recommended. The route will be marshalled and waymarked such that no navigation is required. There will be a water station near the half-way point. Post-race: Tea & cake provided by Slaithwaite Striders will be available for £1.50, payable in cash. Prize giving ceremony will be held shortly after the race ends at around 11:30 am.
