A single lap multi-terrain course covering approx. 5.8 miles held in/around the country tracks/footpaths of Judy Woods
Judy Jaunt Festive 5 takes part in the breath-taking Pennine scenery of Judy Woods, Bradford. A multi-terrain run over about 5.8 miles on country tracks, footpaths and some streets, through ancient woodlands and farmland, offering spectacular long-distance Pennine views (weather permitting, of course, though it never normally rains in Bradford). You may find the odd hill and as the race takes place in winter, there may also be a bit of mud, some tree routes, snow and ice to add to the festive fun. An event for the whole family: for club runners, fun runners, and those in seasonal fancy dress. Prime lookouts around the course offer great vantage points (if you take the time to look), and post-race food and drink are provided at our Race HQ, Horsfall Community Stadium, Cemetery Road (off Halifax Road), Bradford, BD6 2NG. The start/finish is around half a mile from the HQ. The race itself takes place in/around Judy Woods, with the start being to the side of Royds Hall Dam/Park Dam, Low Moor, Bradford, which is off Lingdale Road, Low Moor, Bradford, BD6 2NT. The dam is accessed via a short path opposite 66-72 Lingdale Road. The maximum number of 500 participants. Race license to be confirmed. Minimum age 16 years. Proceeds go to support the resurfacing and ongoing maintenance of the historic athletics track at Horsfall Stadium which is now the financial responsibility of Bradford Airedale AC.
