RUN & FUN at the Watlass Wander 5k

A DAY OUT 5k & 10k, BBQ, Stalls, Games, Kids Sports Day

Run & Fun, Thornton Watlass 5k & 10k and a Fun Day filled with good old fashioned village fete style attractions. A fabulous day of fun for all ages, supporting local charities, businesses and clubs. Schedule; Saturday the 18th of June 2022 08:30am – Race registration opens (Closes at 09:45am) 10am – 5k & 10k 10:00am – Stalls Open TBC 11:00am – BBQ Starts TBC 12:00pm – Kids Races and Games (pay on the day) TBC 02:00pm – Fancy Dress Adults and Children TBC 03:00pm – Adults Games TBC The kids runs and games will be for all ages and consist of running races, egg and spoon, whack a rat, coco nut shy, name the cow, tombola, hook a duck, fun dog show, cake stall, pie stall, village scarecrow competition, fancy dress competition. All proceeds to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and other selected local charities. The Adults games will be welly throwing, tug of war, quoits, etc. PLEASE BRING CASH FOR GAMES AND STALLS Prices range between 50p and £3. We only accept real money on the stands and for the games. The 10k is a road race around the pretty village of Burrill, starting and finishing at Thornton Watlass Green. The race is undulating but is a great route! bring your family and friends to enjoy this fabulous day out (the 5k course is multi terrain and TBC). Race registration starts at 08:30am and the race starts at 10am. Parking will be past the village green in a field near the church it will be signposted and a voluntary donation of around £2 can be made which goes directly to the North Yorkshire Air Ambulance. WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE USE THE ROADS INTO THORNTON WATLASS CAREFULLY. FUN DAY ONLY VISITORS PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE VILLAGE FROM BURRILL ROAD BETWEEN 10AM AND 11:30AM DUE TO RUNNERS BEING IN THE ROAD.
