Get into the festive spirit by dressing as Santa and running, jogging or walking around the Knavesmire. FREE SANTA SUIT FOR ALL PAYING ENTRIES INCLUDING CHILDREN'S SIZES. This year the 3k event will be chasing a Mince Pie! Under 5s can join in free with an adult There is also a 10km race available where you can Chase the Pudding! The BHF York Fundraising Group have been organising Chase The Pud York for around 20 years, & with this in mind we’d love if each of our entrants could raise just an extra £20 through Just Giving sponsorship to support the BHF's work into finding the cures & treatments needed for heart & circulatory diseases. In York alone, there are around 26,000 people living with these conditions, & each month, devastatingly, 40 lives are taken in this area because of them. With your help we can keep more families together in our local community. The BHF is the biggest independent funder of heart & circulatory research in the UK & they fund around 900 life-saving projects every year, led by specialist cardiology professors and scientists. Before they existed over half of all UK deaths were from heart & circulatory diseases. But BHF scientists, & supporters like you, have helped half that number. Their work has literally turned science fiction into reality. Machines that can restart hearts. The ability to fix arteries in tiny babies. The power to give someone a heart they weren't born with.
