A fun 5 mile trail race to celebrate Yorkshire day

The Flatcap 5 is an annual 5 mile trail race to celebrate Yorkshire Day with free pie 'n peas - Bring Your Flat Caps ! The course is multi terrain, slightly undulating, finishing at the picturesque Leggers Inn pub and canal boat yard close to Dewsbury town centre. The route takes in the Dewsbury-Ossett greenway, off road paths and the canal towpath. All race proceeds are donated to 'Andys Man Club' & 'Haven Breast Cancer' charities. Don't forget to bring your FLAT CAP to wear during the race; whilst this is not compulsory it is encouraged to fit in with the spirit of the race and help us celebrate Yorkshire Day on August 1st. There is a prize for the Best Flat Cap judged by our team so please feel free to add whatever accessories to your headgear to make you a WINNER. There will also be other prizes for the M/F winners, places, age group categories and M/F 1,2,3 team prizes; note to qualify for a team prize all team members must finish the race wearing their flat caps. And don't forget to say on the entry form what pie would you like (Vegan/Meat/Vegetarian)? Unfortunately dogs cannot run in the race. **Wearing of earphones will not be permitted, participants must be able to hear instructions from marshals throughout the event.** As this is entirely a charity fundraiser, there are no refunds or place transfers.
