From its origins in 1995 to the global celebration it has become today, the day serves as a reminder of the importance of reading in shaping minds and cultures. Whether you’re a child dressing up as your favorite character or an adult diving into a new novel, reading provides countless benefits, from enhancing vocabulary and concentration to improving brain development. So, next time you pick up a book, remember that you’re not only experiencing a world of imagination but also strengthening your mind. WHAT’S INVOLVED? Run, walk or jog any distance, anywhere, at your own pace on World Book Day, (6th March 2025). Distances accepted: 5k, 10k, 10 miles, half marathon or full marathon. We also accept treadmill activities. WHAT’S INCLUDED? All participants will receive a beautiful white finishers medal for their achievement. This medal is made from aluminium and comes with a plain colour ribbon. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION We do accept entries from overseas participants. However, please note that is an extra charge to cover postage costs. In the event that a resident with a non-UK address purchases a standard UK entry, then we reserve the right to refuse the entry and refund in full.
