Hartcliff Hill Race

This local favourite returns for another year with a change of start location

Hartcliff Hill is a BS category fell race on a marked and marshalled course – no navigation or prior experience required. The terrain is a mixture of fields and rough tracks, with three short sections of asphalt road. The race starts and finishes in Penistone, on the playing fields next to the Bowling Club. The race previously started near Langsett reservoir, but in recent years it has been difficult to organise because of parking permissions. Time: Race registration opens at 18:00 and closes at 18:45. FRA Rules: The event is run under FRA rules. Runners are must read the ‘Principles of Fell Running’ and the ‘Requirements for Runners’ including the recent ‘Rule Changes’ documents. Kit: There is no minimum kit to be carried, please use your own judgement for what you need to carry Safety: Please be aware that Fell Running comes with risks. Please look after each other on the course. If you see a fellow runner in trouble please follow the FRA guidelines as best you can and let the nearest marshal know. Please take extra care on the short road sections, marshals will be at critical points but are not authorised to stop traffic. Abandonment: Any runner deciding to abandon the race after they have picked up their number must notify the race organiser as soon as possible.
