The Bloodaxe Challenge
Looking for something slightly different, check out See York Run York's latest running event, the Bloodaxe Challenge!
Looking for your first or next running challenge? Introducing See York Run York's latest running event, the Bloodaxe Challenge. It is being held at the beginning of the Jorvik Viking Festival and is named after the notorious Viking King, Eric Bloodaxe. The event is being held at York Sports Village on their 1km cycle circuit. It's a 2 hour, chip timed event and you can do as many or as few 1km laps as you wish within the 2 hour limit! If you are a beginner, turn up and run 5 laps. Building up from a 5km? Then turn up and run 10 laps. Alternatively, if you are super speedy and looking for the ultimate challenge, try and see how many laps you can squeeze in within the time limit. The choice is yours. No matter how many laps you run, all runners receive the same bespoke medal and a goody bag. Homemade cakes for all runners at the end of the race! You do not need to run for the full 2 hours unless you really want to! The event is chip timed.
