For the first time ever, Shadwell Runners have teamed up with Friends of Shadwell School (FOSS) to provide this exciting sporting challenge for all the family. All profits from this will go directly to FOSS to support Shadwell Primary School. Don’t miss the 1km fun run which is also taking place on the same day at 14:30. 5KM RACE Starts at 13:00 Please arrive in good time to collect your race number. Race HQ is the Recreation Centre on Holywell Lane. Don't forget safety pins! (Although we will have some emergency spares) Entry fee of £7 per participant (£5 for affiliated runners) Runners in the 5km category must be 11 years or older. Runners under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. REFRESHMENTS There will be refreshments available for participants and spectators before and after this event. PRIZES All participants will receive prizes. The fastest male and female will each receive a special prize. There will also be prizes for best fancy dress - so it's not all about the running prowess! SAFETY The emphasis is on fun and safety. The event will be fully marshalled and there will be first aiders present. Please follow the instructions of the marshalls, and stay aware of your surroundings. The roads will NOT be closed for this race, so it is your responsibility to stick to pavements and watch out for traffic. TOILETS There will be limited toilet facilties available in the Recreation Centre. PARKING We encourage you to walk or cycle to this event if at all possible, but there is some parking near the Recreation Centre, a number of spaces will be available in the Scout Hut car park (on Main Street, next to the Red Lion pub) and there is also on-street parking within Shadwell. Please ensure you park considerately.
