Rudding Park Kids 2.5km Run

Following the sell-out success of the annual 10K Rudding ParkRace, for the first time we are introducing a chance for children to get in on the action! This year, we will hold a kids' 2.5km race at 4.30pm on Tuesday 19th May, before the adults' event sets off at 7pm. This is open for a maximum of 52 children, aged between 7 and 15 years old. The children's course is a single marked loop of around 2.5km with a mixture of paths, woodland trails and hills. Both the kids' and the adults' Rudding ParkRaces will support our 2026 Charity of the Year, Mind in Harrogate, a community-based service for those who need support with their mental health and wellbeing. There will be prizes for the first male and first female finishers, and a medal and ice cream for all participating children.

Please note this is a mixed terrain and hilly route. All entrants must be able to complete the route within 30 minutes. Neither the organisers nor their official photographer will take any photographs of the children's race. We ask that any photos taken by yourself, family members or friends are kept for personal use and would discourage you from posting these on social media. If you do post on social media, please do not allow other children's images to appear with those of your own children. Permission for each child or young person to take part must be given by a responsible adult, who must remain present at the event for the entire duration of the run. It is your responsibility to let the organisers know if the child needs any additional assistance, for example because of a disability, or if there is anything else that the organisers should be aware of (including medical conditions and allergies). During the event the child’s responsible adult remains responsible for the participant’s safety. The organisers cannot take responsibility for any damage to clothing and/or personal items that may occur during the activity. The responsible adults agrees that the child taking part in the stated activity is physically fit enough to do so and the child may be given any necessary medical treatment in an emergency. The parent / responsible adult waives and releases on behalf of the child, any and all claims, and causes of action, or liabilities which may hereafter accrue against Rudding Park by reason of the child’s participation in the event, including any and all claims for personal injuries caused by Rudding Park. In addition, they accept full responsibility for the care and supervision of the child during the event.
