Junior race with closed road bike loop!

Skipton Junior Triathlon welcomes all abilities from ages 8 to 16 (age at 31 December 2024). After our first Junior race for many years last year we have listened to the feedback from participants, parents and spectators making many improvements for our 2024 event : • A Central Event Village in Aireville Park with common Registration, Transition and Finish Areas with the Adults triathlon in the morning and Junior triathlon in the afternoon. • Craven Energy Tri Club will have safeguarding qualified Coaches within the Transition area to assist younger athletes with racking their bikes, getting their run kit ready etc. • After swimming their respective lengths in Craven Leisure Centre Pool, athletes will be able to put on trainers if needed before a short, marshalled run to the Transition area. • From the Transition Area it is a short distance to the closed road cycle circuit on Gargrave Road where Athletes will complete a set number of loops for their respective Age Categories. • A marshalled Run course using the paved paths within Aireville Park that will be either one or two laps depending on Age Group and distance. • Parents and Spectators will have plenty of access to view participants in the Leisure Centre Pool (Swim), Aireville Park (Transition and Run) and sections of Gargrave Road (Bike Loop). • Each participant will receive a finishers medal with Awards (top 3 open and female). Race distances comply with BTF Age-Group Guidelines and can be found at https://www.britishtriathlon.org/events/skipton-junior-triathlon_15441 PLEASE NOTE : a/ Race Brief packs with all event details (final Age Group race distances, laps, registration times, etc) will be sent to all racers 2 weeks prior to the event. b/ Age Group Wave and individual start times will be confirmed 2-3 days before race day depending when entries close.
