A 10K Trail Race Amongst the Parkland of Rudding Park, Harrogate
Following the sell-out success of last year’s event, Rudding ParkRace will return on Tuesday 14 May 2024. Once again, participants will get the chance to run a route on private land, created specifically for the event, with Rudding House making the perfect backdrop for the finish line. Last year the race raised over £5,500 for the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease. The course is a single marked loop with a mixture of paths, woodland trails and includes some technical areas. From the starting line, you will run down to the lakes where you will follow the stone wall into the woodland and be prepared to climb it on the opposite side! From the top you will then drop down two fields to Crimple Beck, following the trail for a few kilometres until you reach the 5km mark and water station. You will then climb, via the secret golf hole, Love Island, Enchanted Woodland Path and the Italy Boot Shape to Repton Green. Follow the nature path to Dower House where you will be able to see the finish line in front of Rudding House but don't be deceived, still ahead the ‘finish drag’, described last year as a ‘brutal’ challenge! Runners can then enjoy music, a complimentary ‘Race Finisher’ refreshment and hog roast as the sunsets. Due to the nature of the course and start time, there is a cut off of 1 hour 45 minutes. Anyone who arrives at the 5km mark after 7:55pm will not be allowed to continue and will be taken to the finish. A key highlight of the Rudding Park ‘Giving Back’ ‘initiative, this year’s Rudding ParkRace will support Martin House, Yorkshire Children Charity and Barnardo’s; three charities we have supported for over twenty years. Prize giving will be at approximately 8.15pm with overall male/female and age categories winners. All runners will receive a race memento and a goody bag.
