Welcome to the 5th running of the North Lakes New Year Half Marathon, set in the base of the stunning Lorton valley. ​Starting at 10.00 am on BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY, January 2nd, the fifth running of the event caters to runners of all abilities. If you want to go for an early season PB, complete your first half marathon or just burn off some of the winter festivities, then start your new year on the right foot. *For 2023 We are very pleased to have been given the go ahead to run the first North Lakes New Year 10K as an addition to the event* Every runner gets a medal, hot sarnie (veggie/vegan or meat) , coffee & chip timed result. There will be spot prizes, overall and category prizes. Charity For 2023 we will be raising money for Blood Bikes Cumbria. for more info visit : https://bloodbikescumbria.org.uk Parking Changes As with 2022 there will be no onsite parking, please use the following parking that is very close. Cockermouth rugby club (0.6mile walk from the venue) & Cockermouth football club (old running track location 0.3mile walk from venue) are opening their parking at a cost of £3 per car and will be on a first come first served basis (140 spaces). Race HQ is approx. 1 mile from Cockermouth, please park in permitted parking places. DO NOT park on the grass verges around the event or on the course. Event Information Headquarters will be located at www.graysonside.com CA139TQ, situated on the outskirts of Cockermouth. Race start time - 10.00am Food and drink will be available to purchase after the event in addition to the free sarnie and hot drink. Cancellations - We reserve the right to cancel or defer the event if conditions are dangerous or we are forced to do so with any government policy changes. Transfers / Refunds - There will be no transfers or refunds after December 3rd, as we will have printed your personal race number which will have your name and food choice on.
