An undulating course through the beautiful Castle Eden Dene
This is the inaugural Castle Eden 5k trail race hosted by Run Peterlee. The route starts at Peterlee Pavilion, winds around the edge of Castle Eden Dene on a undulating dolomite path (aka The Yellow Brick Road). Then the route leads deep into Castle Eden Dene all the way down to the stream. From the bottom of the Dene there is a challenging climb back to the top (aka Heart Attack Hill), we'll try and give you some encouragement to get up it without stopping! Once you reach the top there is a steady run back around 'The Yellow Brick Road' back to the Pavilion where the finish line and a bottle of water awaits. For our first race we have limited it to 100 places so get in quick for a brand new challenging 5k. We will be the guests of Natural England and of Castle Eden Dene itself, please admire and respect this fantastic area of natural beauty as you run this race.
