UNFORTUNATELY WE NEED TO ANNOUNCE THE CANCELLATION OF THIS YEARS RACE. THIS IS DUE TO CANAL TOWPATH CLOSURE TAKING PLACE BETWEEN SHIPLEY AND APPERLEY BRIDGE. IT HAS NOT BEEN POSSIBLE TO REROUTE THE RACE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE RACE USES THIS SECTION BOTH OUT AND BACK. . FURTHER INFORMATION REGARDING THE TOWPATH CLOSURE CAN BE FOUND HERE: https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/notices/21461-towpath-closure-shipley-towpath-improvement-works-leeds-and-liverpool-canal The Arthur James ShakERR has been shaken and is set to return in 2022 with a new venue, new route and CHIP TIMING. The route which starts next to the crickey club pavillion is a 11.75km (approx. 7.25 miles) loop, multi terrain, through Thackley and Buck Wood following sections of the Leeds - Liverpool canal towpath and a new section from Esholt to Shipley via the pavement down Otley Road.
