Sport In Action - Castle 5 Series, Race 1

Race Numbers & Race day information – Race numbers etc. will be issued at race registration. If any updates are required to the race information they will appear on this page as well as the Sport in Action home page Registration – Opens 17:30 Course – The event uses a mixture of park paths, Pavements and quiet roads which are flat or gently undulating. The road surfaces are generally okay. Caution should be taken at all turns, paying attention to marshals wherever necessary. The route will be an officially measured 5km route. The run will start close to the sheepmount Stadium and finish inside the sheepmount on the track. Athletes are requested to follow the race director’s instructions and be aware of the dangers of cars and cyclists. Risk Assessment – A full course risk assessment will be on display at the event HQ on race day together with maps of the route, the race permit and the measurement certificate in accordance with UKA rules (Permit No TBA). Race Safety Briefing – The race briefing will take place at 18:45am. Prize presentation – 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male & Female straight after the 3rd finishes. Age groups will receive their prize via BACS payment within 7days Prizes – Overall Male & Female 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male & Female. Age Group Male & Female prizes will be awarded as follows 1 to 17 competitors 1st Place only, 18 to 27 competitors 1st & 2nd place, 28 or more competitors 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes will be awarded. Any age grouper that finishes in an overall prize position (1st, 2nd or 3rd Male or Female) will receive the overall prize. That age group prize will then roll down to the next person in that age category. The overall 3rd place prize will not be less than the age group winner. Withdrawals Policy - Up until May 8th, 2024 all withdrawals will subject to a 50% charge to cover the costs of processing the entry and refund. After this date, no refunds will be given.
