Gosforth 10 Mile
Entries are currently closed for this event. More details to follow.
The Gosforth Ten is run over an accurately measured 10 mile course, certified by UK Athletics. The route is clearly marked with arrows and signs, and is marshalled at key points. There is a lead car, and a back up vehicle with first aid facilities and very comfortable seats. Runners start at the Wellington end of Gosforth, run through the village, and turn left down the A595 to Holmrook. Through Holmrook, the route turns left at the Petrol Station, takes the left fork at the end of Irton Levels, turns left at the junction after the Santon Bridge Gift Shop, straight on through Santon Village, and back through Gosforth to finish on the Sports Field. The route is not closed to traffic, so runners must stay on the left hand side of the road at all times. Drinks will be provided at approximately five miles, by the Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team, at around 7.5 miles, and at the finish. First Aid will be provided. Runners must not be accompanied by cyclists or people in cars, as this presents a major safety risk to other runners and road users. At the finish each runner will receive a commemorative medal, maybe a spot prize, drinks and biscuits. Results will be displayed as quickly as we can at the finish. The Race is held under UK Athletics Rules
