A 10K trail race amongst the parkland of Rudding Park, Harrogate
Rudding Park was originally part of the Forest of Knaresborough – a private hunting estate for Henry VIII and Rudding House, with its views over the Vale of York provides an iconic backdrop for the finishing line. Rudding Park is now a privately-owned luxury resort. The course is a single marked loop with a mixture of paths, woodland trails and includes some technical areas. From the starting line, you will run down to the lakes. Follow the stone wall into the woodland and be prepared to climb it on the opposite side! You will then drop down via “Nuno’s let it go” path to Crimple Beck, following the trail for a few kilometres until you reach the 5km mark (water station). You will then climb, via the secret golf hole, Love Island and "lights4fun" Enchanted Woodland Path and Italy Boot Shape to Repton Green. Follow the nature path to Dower House where you will be able to see the finish line in front of Rudding House but don't be deceived, still ahead the “Matthew’s finish drag” is a challenge. Refreshments will be provided for all runners at the 5km mark and finish line. The Deer House Pub will be open all day. Following the race, enjoy a complimentary ‘RaceFinisher’ refreshment and hog roast (a charge applies for friends and family) at the Jupiter Fan Zone. Prize giving at approximately 8.15pm with overall male/female and age categories winners. All runners will receive a medal, race memento and a goody bag. The inaugural Rudding ParkRace celebrates the Platinum Jubilee with any profits from the race being donated to ‘The Queen’s Green Canopy" – an initiative to encourage people to ‘plant a tree for the Jubilee’. Plus, Rudding Park also commits to planting a tree in their grounds to represent each Rudding ParkRace competitors.
