The Tilbury Douglas Yorkshire Run for WaterAid - 5k & 10k
Located in the Washburn Valley on the southern side of the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the scenic Swinsty Reservoir is a popular site for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The accessibility-friendly paths provide a great basis for a running route, where the relatively flat nature of the reservoir circuit lends its self nicely to a PB-challenging pace! Note that most of the race takes place on roads or paths, with short segments on a flat dirt track. Course is mainly flat with only one moderate hill. You can run either race which is approximately 5k or 10k. All money raised from the event helps WaterAid bring clean water to people living in poverty. Yorkshire Water and WaterAid have committed to raising funds for various WaterAid projects – all funds and sponsorship raised from this event go towards WaterAid. We have acquired an UKA Licence (Licence No: #******). This means it is an official race, which we know lots of running clubs and athletes need for local championship competitions with the result published on Power of 10. To keep within the UKA Licence rules we discourage people to wear headphones/earphones whilst taking part in the race and your race number must be visible. Please Note that due to the location and parking facilities, car sharing is encouraged, with a discount to the entry fee and priority car parking for cars with multiple occupants.
