Jolly Holly Jog 2023
A scenic, multi-terrain course of approximately 10k, an undulating route mainly on footpaths & through Studley parkland
The race follows a scenic, multi-terrain course of approximately 10k. It is an undulating route mainly on footpaths through parkland. Starting on Hell Wath Nature Reserve, continuing up Whitcliffe Lane onto public footpaths through Mackershaw Woods and Studley Deer Park, passing Monty’s bench (in memory of our club co-founder and former club president). The course then heads out of the main gate at Studley, right, up Plumpton Lane, and returns via a short steep climb in Mackershaw Woods, across to Whitcliffe Lane and back towards Hell Wath Nature Reserve. Following a short section through the woods at Hell Wath, the course then emerges onto the field back to the finish. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams or pushchairs. A route map will be displayed at Race HQ on the day. We're again, partnering with Trees Not Tees to offer you the option of planting a tree instead of receiving our event T Shirt. Planting a tree has a profound effect on contribution to climate change & environmental protection. They remove carbon dioxide from the air as they grow, whilst also providing a habitat for a wide range of the UK’s most endangered and loved species, creating clean air for us to breathe. Your tree will be planted in Scotland to grow as part of a whole new forest full of native broadleaf tree species. You’ll receive a certificate from Trees Not Tees that includes a picture of your tree, details of the species, and a unique geo-location address so you can even go and visit.
