A 5 mile mixed terrain run around the picturesque town of Knaresborough

The race takes its name from the term for a person born in Knaresborough - a Crag Rat. The route starts at Knaresborough Cricket Club and take runners along trails descending the crag to a tarmaced section alongside the River Nidd; mixed terrain leads to a trail through woodland before a fast tarmaced section returns runners to a narrow path adjacent to the river. Crossing the bridge near the Petryfying Well, there is a further riverside section before ascending back up the crag to the finish line where a medal and a goody bag will be presented to all finishers. Approximately half of the race is on tarmac.
