Our Running Workshops return at Runswick Bay this April

We welcome you to our next Running Workshop at Runswick Bay, North Yorkshire on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th April. Runswick Bay is one of Yorkshire Coast’s prettiest destinations and equally offers a fantastic training environment for us distance runners. This workshop is positioned perfectly as a springboard into a busy racing schedule coming up for the running community. Meeting point/Time: 1. We will meet at Runswick Bay Beach information center, TS13 5HT from 10:15 am with the training day commencing at 10:30 am. 2. The training day will last until around 1:30/2:00 pm with a social afterward and a bite to eat/drink. Specific session details for both Saturday and Sunday: Part 1: 1. Warm-up + running technique session. 2. Beach interval training session (grouped on ability) - 45 minutes. 3. Warm down + running-specific stretches. A 30-minute break for drinks/snacks/social. Part 2: 1. You will have the opportunity to explore the local trails surrounding Runswick Bay and sections of The Cleveland Way for a sociable run - up to 60 minutes (if you are tired from the beach session there is no shame in a nice sociable walk). 2. A beach Yoga and relaxation session to top it off - what a way to end the day! The Coaches: The Workshop will be led by two UKA qualified coaches and elite-level runners chasing some big targets this year. Our aim is to share our passion and provide knowledge of our own experiences of training/racing and ideas on the sport. Clothing/equipment required: - Trail shoes (road trainers with good grip). - Waterproof clothing. - Snacks and water. - Small backpack to carry extra layers, snacks, and water.
