Open water tri with a choice of distances

2019 saw the successful introduction of a sprint distance, to this popular open water triathlon. For both distances, you will start in the River Wharfe, first up and then down stream, then bike out and back towards Boroughbridge and finish with a run on the Sustrans cycleway between Wetherby and Spofforth. SWIM (1500M/750M) The course starts with a 750m/1500m swim in the river up and down stream. The flow is normally only strong enough to make a minute or so difference to the upstream and downstream legs. The swim start may be split into two waves if entry numbers exceed 200. BIKE (40K/20K) The out and back bike routes are mainly on the fast and quiet A168 to Boroughbridge. RUN (10K/5K) The run is on the traffic free Sustrans cycleway between Wetherby and Spofforth.
