Will it be the Denby Gallop or the Pirate Ship Challenge?

10th anniversary edition of our family-friendly village race event. Fancy dress optional. Choice of 2 junior races to accompany the senior Denby Dash (see separate on-line entry). Denby Gallop - for children up to 8 years old (those under 6 years to be accompanied by an adult). A 1 mile scenic loop on tracks and fields with a steep 140ft climb followed by a fast gallop home. Pirate Ship Challenge - for children aged 9 - 16 years. A 2 mile course over fields and conservation land with a challenging 240ft climb up to the pirate ship before a fast return route home. Race routes are marked and well marshalled. Ice cream kindly provided by Yummy Yorkshire for all junior finishers. Medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd girl and boy in each race; also for first U6 in Denby Gallop and first U10, U12 & U14 & U16 in the Pirate ship challenge. Prize for best fancy dress in both races. Live music and refreshment stalls back at The George Inn - fun for all the family on a Bank Holiday Monday! NB. Pre-entries close at 8pm on Saturday 29th August - Juniors also welcome to enter on the day.
