5K RACE NOW SOLD OUT Although, we can’t run the roads this year as we might like, we can race the runways. At EvenSplits we are pleased to announce our first ever Big Flat Runway Races to be held on Sunday 4th October 2020 at Elvington Airfield, near York. Every road race distance will be on offer (5K, 10K, 10mile, half marathon and marathon) and every race will be chip-timed, officially measured and UKA licensed. There will be no mass starts and so no gun times. Instead you will be set off in small socially distanced groups at intervals. Your result will be a chip time as currently recommended by UKA. For those who don’t know, Elvington airfield is huge! The runway is over 3km long and there is a huge 19.8 hectares rectangular hardstanding apron for car parking. And that’s why we have chosen it, because there is more than enough open space to allow for social distancing between competitors before, during and after the race. So you can still run any road distance you like. Before race day, every entrant will be sent their race number and a Big Flat Race Face sports snood. After the race, everyone will get a special Big Flat Space Race medal. PROVISIONAL START TIMES 09:00 - 09:30 Marathon (10 laps) 10:00 - 10:30 10K (2.5 laps) 11:00 - 11:30 Half marathon (5 laps) 12:00- 12:30 10 mile (4 laps) 13:00 - 13:15 5K (1 lap)

When all places are sold or if it is less than 4 weeks to race day, your race entry fee will not be refundable in any circumstances. If, however, the race is cancelled due to COVID-19 related issues, your place will automatically be transferred to a new rescheduled date. While places are still available and it is more than 4 weeks until race day, you may apply in writing for a refund, which will be subject to a refund processing charge of £2-£3 (depending on the original entry fee). By entering this race, you agree to these terms and conditions.

To comply with track and trace responsibilities, there will be no permitted race place transfers after Monday 7th September 2020. Anyone found to be running in someone else's name, will be disqualified and their details will be passed to UK Athletics.
